Life Science Angels is a not-for-profit corporation with 130-150 accredited investor members, 12-18 highly qualified fellows, and 12-15 sponsor organizations. We take no carry or management fees on investments. We do not charge companies any fees.
We write one check for each investment and sign one set of paperwork so we appear as a single investor on portfolio company capitalization tables. The individual members who invest in a given company pool their investments through our LLC. We prefer to be active investors and provide a board member or observer, or some other form of strategic or operational advisor. We will invest in companies outside of our geographic area, but prefer to see those companies supported by a local angel group.

Investor Membership
In a typical year our events include:
Over 250 deals formally submitted.
36 screening meetings with 2-3 deals at each.
5 investment dinners with 2-3 deals presenting at each.
Bi-monthly or more member and community education seminars.
2 holiday parties - Summer and Christmas
Ad hoc seminars and functions on topics of interest.
Fellow Membership
We have 12-18 highly qualified Fellows who do a pre-screen evaluation of deals and more.
They are typically PhDs or MDs or both. Many are post-docs at Stanford or UCSF. Fellows pay no membership fees and investment dinners are complimentary.
Sponsor Membership
We are proud of the sponsor organizations who endorse our mission.
Designated individuals in these organizations receive the benefits of members for the annual sponsorship fee. Sponsor organizations are featured at our events and on our website.
